Dean SPS

Welcome Message

The School of Postgraduate Studies (SPS) was established in 2015 as an organ of Al-Qalam University Katsina (AUK) charged with the responsibility of promoting, supervising, coordinating and regulating postgraduate studies in the University. Postgraduate programmes in the University are designed in line with the main objective of postgraduate education in the Nigerian University System, that is to further develop the spirit of enquiry in postgraduate students through training in research in an atmosphere of intellectual independence and individual creativity, combined with a strong sense of team work.

The Postgraduate School is under the office of the Vice Chancellor it is managed by a Dean, Sub-dean and Secretary. The Pioneer Dean was Prof. Shehu Usman Rano he was succeeded by Prof. Mansur Kiyawa in 2016/2017 session, followed by Dr. A.K. Yusuf in 2018/2020. The school is currently under the headship of Ass. Prof. Amina Muhammad Sani.

The School has its General Regulations Governing Postgraduate Studies similar to what obtains in our Nigerian Universities within the frame work of the regulations provided by the Nigerian Universities Commission (NUC).

The School of Postgraduate Studies still appeals to students to ensure that they abide by all the regulations as stated in the general regulation Governing Postgraduate Studies. Full registration at the beginning of each academic session is compulsory, and failure to register shall deny the student privilege and rights of a Postgraduate Student.

Finally, the School of Postgraduate Studies wishes to express its gratitude to the University Community in general and the Vice Chancellor in particular, the Deans and Head of Department; Board of the School of Postgraduate Studies, the Senate of Al-Qalam University Katsina and all the Staff of the School of Postgraduate Studies for their continued support and contribution to the current publication of this maiden edition of the Regulations Governing Higher Degrees Studies in Al-Qalam University Katsina. So patronized us now and you will not regret that you did.

Once again welcome to the School of Postgraduate Studies Al-Qalam University Katsina.
