New Vice-Chancellor Assumes Office

The newly appointed Vice-Chancellor, Al-Qalam University Katsina, Prof. Nasiru Musa Yauri has assumed office, becoming the 6th Vice-Chancellor in the history of the University established in 2005.

He arrived the Senate Building on Monday, 1st November, 2021, accompanied by Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Assoc. Prof. Muhammad Kabir Kado who administered the affairs of the University in acting capacity for a period of one month.

A Professor of economic management, Nasiru Musa Yauri spent the greater part of the day receiving briefs from Principal Officers of the University and subsequently presided over a special Senate Meeting.

The Registry Department has released itinerary of the Vice-Chancellor’s familiarisation visit to various departments, units and infrastructure of the University, including students’ hostels and municipal services.

Meanwhile, the Vice-Chancellor has shared his vision, saying that he would put his efforts, in the next five years, to improving the image of the University to curve self identity as a leading university within and around the world.

It is his desire to establish additional organs which would facilitate and standardise teaching, conduct of examinations and general administration of the University.

The Vice-Chancellor talked about supporting research activities, innovations and Islamic Thoughts, so that Al-Qalam University becomes the destination of choice in seeking Islamic solutions to contemporary issues and developments.

Prof. Yauri solicited support and understanding of the University Community including students and parents in achieving the task that lies ahead in building upon the achievements already recorded by the University.
