VICE CHANCELLOR AL-QALAM UNIVERSITY GIVES PIECE OF ADVICE TO NEW STUDENTS OF POSTGRADUATE SCHOOL
The Vice Chancellor Al-Qalam University, Professor Shehu Ado Garki has advised students of postgraduate school of the university to avoid acts of indiscipline so that none can be found wanting.
He stated this at the second orientation program of new students admitted into the School of Postgraduate Studies of the University. The Vice Chancellor said the emphasis for Postgraduate training is on Research and Publications and urged the students to get prepared to come up with new findings and innovations in their various fields of study. Professor Ado also said he is expecting an exemplary conduct from the new students advising them to study the rules and regulations of the university with keen interest.
Earlier in his speech, the newly appointed Dean, School of Postgraduate Studies Professor Mansur Saleh Kiyawa urged the newly admitted students to use the opportunity of their stay in the university to develop an independent intellectual perception on issues affecting the progress of society. He also emphasised the need for them to be morally upright as students of Al-Qalam University.
In her address, Secretary of the Postgraduate School, Hajiya Amina Babba Kaita congratulated the new students drawing their attention on the need to work hard so as to graduate within the recommended academic period of time for their various programs.
45 students were admitted into the Postgraduate School for the 2016/2017 Academic Session.
Papers were also presented by the Co-ordinator Islamic Studies of the Postgraduate School, Dr Amina Mohammed Sani, Alhaji Tajuddeen Oladipo of the ICT Unit and Mallam Mohammed Sa’idu, the Chief Security Officer of the University.
